Vehicles preparing to race. Note the safety barriers between the racing strip and spectators. The racing surface is treated to provide grip to the tyre rubber. The vehicles undergo pre-race burnouts to warm  and soften the tyre rubber to better grip the racing surface. This prevents skidding.
