John Hawkins Memorial Scholarship

The Rotary Club of Alice Springs has been offering the John Hawkins Memorial Scholarship to an outstanding Central Australian student commencing tertiary studies for more than 40 Years.

Service above Self

Providing service to others is a core value of Rotary. Previous recipients of the Scholarship have all demonstrated in different ways, that they provide Service above Self. Service comes in many shapes and forms from working with disadvantaged youth in Alice Springs to assisting with building a school in Cambodia. In your application you are encouraged to show how you have provided service to others in the past and your intentions for the future.

Central Australian residents who are completing Year 12 in 2022 or who have completed Year 12 in 2021 and have had a Gap Year in 2022 and will be studying a Bachelor degree at an approved institution in 2023 are eligible to apply for this scholarship. If you are offered and subsequently accept The John Hawkins Memorial Scholarship you agree to not accept other scholarships.

The scholarship cannot be deferred, so only apply this year if you will commence your studies in 2023. If you intend taking a gap year we encourage you to apply for the year you will start your studies.
