Drawn on Tuesday, November 2nd, 12:00 PM at Yeperenye Shopping Centre.
It's not gambling. It's an investment in educating future community leaders from Alice Springs.
How it works:
  • 24 numbers get drawn out of a barrel - one for each horse that takes part in the Melbourne Cup race.
  • Each number gets matched to a horse (names taken from the final line-up on the day).
  • The owner of each ticket number drawn is immediately notified that their horse is in the race. This is an automatic $50 cash prize.
  • The Melbourne Cup runs, usually 1:30 PM Central Standard Time (3:00 PM Australian Eastern Daylight-savings Time).
  • The owners of the tickets matched to the winning horses (First, Second and Third) are called a second time to notify them of their win.
  • If a horse from the final line-up is "scratched" (removed from the race because of injury or any other reason), the ticket owner matched to that horse still wins a $50 cash prize.
